But his new book is more than a simple translation of the old classic; it is a revised and expanded edition, with new sections, detailed historical maps, and a comprehensive bibliographic essay. The history of the Island and the Dominican Republic from 1492 to 1990 by " the best-known contemporary Dominican historian." (Hispanic-American Historical Review).
His latest book is "The History of the Caribbean."
